Our teams are growing and we are looking for Associate Editor in our New York office location. They will work closely with the senior editor on daily and weekly content creation, as well as the broader content-engagement strategy for Dice’s core content properties. This is a job that will involve both tactical and strategic thinking, with an eye toward expanding our readership and positioning us for rapid growth.

In this position you will:

  • Interact with our data team to surface interesting technology- and jobs-related data, and then write articles about that data.
  • Write 4-5 content pieces per week on topics related to hiring, recruiting, and technology.
  • Monitor and evaluate content traffic.
  • Evaluate which stories should belong in a weekly newsletter, then create that newsletter with an eye toward optimum traffic.
  • Maintain editorial calendar.
  • Generate ideas for content creation.
  • Engage in ongoing relationships with a team of freelance writers and designers.

Job Qualifications:

  • Experience in data journalism, including querying databases for information interesting/significant for readers
  • Ability to write in a clear and engaging style, following journalistic protocols with regard to research, attribution, etc.
  • Fluent in written and oral English
  • Ability to converse with freelancers, sources, and other journalists; having a portfolio of freelancers preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • 2-4 years of online journalism experience, preferably with a technology and/or employment-related publication
  • Familiarity with interactive graphics and visualizations
  • Motivated self-starter who thinks in terms of how content can best engage an audience; capable of maintaining high standards without supervision

Our Customer Support Department has an opening for a Customer Support Representative in our Urbandale office. As a Customer Support Representative you be responsible for driving customers' successful use of Dice products and services in fulfilling their hiring and recruiting needs. Primarily, your activities will include posting customer jobs, taking incoming phone calls, chat sessions, and emailing.

In this position you will:

  • Resolve incoming job seeker and customer inquiries and issues via phone, email, or chat regarding one or more of the Dice brands
  • Make outbound calls and send customized emails that build relationships with customers
  • Do regular progress reviews per a set schedule to ensure customers are utilizing their job posting slots and finding enough quality IT candidates so they renew with us
  • Gather and document information/feedback in CRM system related to customers' needs
  • Encourage clients to utilize appropriate Dice resources (i.e. – Employer Resource Center, communities, forums, online and webinar training, Dice social media, etc.)
  • Keep current on recruitment and job market trends in order to provide insight to customers
  • Recognize and provide Sales team with any possible up-sell opportunities
  • Provide internal customer feedback – be the voice of the customer – to continually improve Dice products and services
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma required, Associates degree preferred
  • A minimum of 1 year experience in Customer or Sales Support, staffing services, sales, admin, or other customer-facing role
  • Inbound/outbound phone calling experience preferred
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral, including excellent spelling, grammar, and punctuation)
  • Experience with MS Word, MS Excel, CRM system, and Internet navigation required
  • Typing speed of minimum 75 WPM preferred
  • Technical aptitude needed
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Must be able to work independently and with cross-functional team
  • Positive attitude is a must
  • Ability to adapt to constant change a must

The position will be responsible for growing new business within our western region for Fortune 1000 accounts.   • Meet or exceed individual sales target on an annual basis
  • Prospect potential customers in territory to work accounts from the CHRO and VP level

In this position you will:

  • Write code to break code
  • Come up with unique and creative test cases to verify functionality, protocol, security, and performance
  • Test the backend and frontend of real-time systems which model and analyze millions of data points
  • Develop and automate whitebox tests (Python), blackbox tests (Selenium), and performance tests (tool of your choice)
  • Vet tests written by developers
  • Formulate and express ideas in a clear, organized fashion
  • Think outside the box, take initiative, and work in a fast-paced environment

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes:

  • Experience testing modern backend services written in Python, NodeJS, Ruby on Rails, PHP, or other web development platform
